Itineraries

DAY 1:

MOMBASA-TSAVO EAST WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

Leave very early in the morning from your hotel towards Mombasa-Nairobi highway to Bachuma Gate, the main gate of Tsavo East national park. Make game drive slowly, looking for lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, gazelles, antelopes and different kind of birds. Stop at Aruba Dam for game viewing and photo taking. Later drive around the Tsavo River watching the animals drinking water and feeding. Later drive to lodge/camp, after checking in take your lunch and relax by pool watching the animals coming by the nearby water to quench their thirst. At 4 pm go for the evening game drive. Thereafter, come back to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2:

TSAVO EAST-TSAVO WEST WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

Leave for the morning game drive, come back for breakfast and later leave the lodge/camp towards Tsavo West national park. Game drive en-route to lodge/camp. Check in for lunch, after lunch, relax by swimming pool cooling your body and watching the animals drinking water by the nearby waterhole. Later go for the evening game drive, visiting the Rhino Sanctuary until 6pm, come back to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3:

TSAVO WEST-AMBOSELI WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

Very early in the morning take your breakfast and leave the lodge/camp to Mzima Springs for hippos and crocodiles. Take your nature walk at Mzima spring where all the water from Mt Kilimanjaro come underground then burst from the volcanic lava rocks therefore making big pool of water where you will find hippo, crocodiles and different kinds of birds. After walking at Mzima springs come back to your bus and drive out of Tsavo West National Park to Amboseli arriving in the afternoon. Freshen up before an introductory late afternoon game drive app 1600hrs in the Park with a perfect view of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro in the backdrop. Dinner and overnight stay at Kimana Tented Camp or Similar

DAY 4:

AMBOSELI FULL DAY WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

After breakfast at app 0630hrs, proceed for an early morning pre-breakfast game drive. This is considered a great time to view game when the animals are ready for a kill to start the day. Return to the camp for breakfast. Lunch will be followed by a late afternoon 1630 hrs game drive where plains game namely zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and various antelopes can be seen. You will look out for the peak of Kilimanjaro which may be seen during clear weather from the camp, anywhere in the park or from the Observation hill. Large herds of elephants and hippo can be seen bathing in the swamp grounds whose waters source is Mt. Kilimanjaro. Hyenas laughing, lions growling, buffaloes blindly grazing in the fields and other species of wildlife and birds. Dinner and overnight at Kimana Camp or similar.

DAY 5:

AMBOSELI-ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK WITH ADVENTURE BACKERS.

Depart Amboseli after breakfast .Our destination today is the Aberdare National Park. We stop for lunch at The Aberdare Country Club, nestled on the slopes of Mweiga Hill. After lunch, set off for the Ark tree lodge, located in the forest on mountain slopes of the Aberdare Mountains. This outstanding lodge offers high altitude game viewing, including animals that are rarely encountered elsewhere: Giant forest hog, Bush Pig, Tree Hyrax, Large Spotted Genet, and the elusive Bongo Antelope. Wildlife can be observed from different levels – and from outside where you can see, hear and smell everything and inside where you can sit with a cup of tea and stay warm and cozy. You can put in a request to be awakened during the night if your favorite animals show up. A herd of Elephants might be just feet away and if you are lucky, a Leopard or large male Lion might put in an appearance. Overnight at the Ark or Treetops Lodge Meal Plan {Lunch & Dinner}

DAY 6:

ABERDARE-SAMBURU WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

This morning depart by road from to Samburu Game Reserve – the Kenya’s rugged, semi-arid of the Northern Eastern Province. Lunch will be served on your way to Samburu. Afternoon game viewing drives in the game reserve. Dinner and overnight stay at Umoja Camp/ Sopa lodges (L, D), Sopa lodges. A place of endless skies, dust-red plains and palm-fringed rivers, Samburu National Reserve lies on the fringes of the vast and arid desert once known as the Northern Frontier District, whose heat-scorched scrublands extend all the way to the jade-green waters of Lake Turkana and beyond. Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometre landscape of the Reserve features rocky battlements, craggy scarps, dry river beds and fallen boulders rising out of the thorn scrub against a backdrop of the far-distant hills and the great red table mountain known as Lololokwi. As for wildlife, Samburu provides one of the few sanctuaries in Kenya for the endangered Grevy’s zebra, the rare beisa oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bathe on the banks of the river in the evening.

DAY 7:

SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

After breakfast morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the Samburu game reserve. The surrounding terrain is renowned for rare game, -long necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx. Leopard is the frequent passer-by. Game drives and bird watching safaris are the ideal way to experience the native wildlife in its natural splendor. Meals and overnight stay at Umoja camp/sopa lodge.

DAY 8.

SAMBURU–MASAI MARA WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

Pre-breakfast sun-rise game viewing-drive to see leopard, cheater, lions and other cuts hunting. This is the best time to spot the cats family when making a kill for their breakfast as the sun rises-up. Back to the camp for your full breakfast before departing with an en-route game viewing-drive as you leave Samburu to Masai Mara, arriving in good time to your camp. After checking-into your camp, freshen-up then go for an introductory game viewing drive. Masai Mara is famous for its black manned lions and yearly migration of wildebeests and the big-five. Dinner and overnight stay at Enchoro wildlife Camp or Similar (L, D)

DAY 9:

MASAI MARA WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS

After breakfast, go for a full day of game viewing-drive across the rich savannah grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-manned lions, leopard and cheetah but also contains numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found here in the Mara. Picnic lunches will be served at the Hippo pools and dinner and overnight at either Dinner and overnight stay at Enchoro wildlife Camp or Similar (B, L, D) Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge or Similar (B, L, D)

DAY 10:

MASAI MARA- NAKURU WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS

Early morning breakfast followed by game drive en route leave Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru- a soda lake Arriving late in the evening. Famously Lake Nakuru attracts vast numbers of fabulously colored pink flamingos to its shallow waters. Hippo, various animals, black rhinos, giraffe, lion, leopards and a profusion of birds are also present at the lake. Dinner and overnight At Golden Palace Hotel or Similar L, D

DAY 11:

LAKE NAKURU-LAKE NAIVASHA WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS.

After breakfast, proceed for a game drive in the Rhino sanctuary which is home to a colony of about 25 white and black Rhinos. Predators are also resident in the Park. Later, we leave for Lake Naivasha. The afternoon is at your leisure with the option of exploring this lake by taking a boat ride to Crescent Island for a negotiable fee (the guides at the lake will let you know about the price). Dinner and overnight stay at Taphe guest house Resort /or similar (Full board Accommodation) Dinner and overnight at Naivasha Sopa Lodge or Similar (Full board Accommodation)

DAY 12:

LAKE NAIVASHA-NAIROBI WITH ADVENTURE BACKPACKERS

On this day, drive to the Hell’s Gate national park famous for its natural geysers, star rock towers and geothermal steam that make it one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa. This park was named for its pair of massive red tinged cliffs framing a geothermic active interior of steam vents and bubbling springs. This is the only park where you can walk or cycle through as you view animals. Later, we leave for Nairobi where the safari ends.
