Itinerary

DAY 1: NAIROBI-SAMBURU GAME RESERVE (L, D)

This morning depart by road from to buffalo spring game reserve Samburu Game Reserve – the Kenya’s rugged, semi-arid of the Northern Eastern Province. Lunch will be served on your way to samburu. Afternoon game viewing drives in the game reserve.

Samburu National Reserve is a place of endless skies, dust-red plains and palm-fringed rivers, Samburu National Reserve lies on the fringes of the vast and arid desert once known as the Northern Frontier District, whose heat-scorched scrublands extend all the way to the jade-green waters of Lake Turkana and beyond. Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometre landscape of the Reserve features rocky battlements, craggy scarps, dry river beds and fallen boulders rising out of the thorn scrub against a backdrop of the far-distant hills and the great red table mountain known as Lololokwi. As for wildlife, Samburu provides one of the few sanctuaries in Kenya for the endangered Grevy’s zebra, the rare beisa oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bathe on the banks of the river in the evening.

DAY 2: SAMBURU GAME RESERVE FULL DAY (B, L, D)

After breakfast morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the Samburu game reserve. The surrounding terrain is renowned for rare game, -long necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx. Leopard is the frequent passer-by. Game drives and bird watching safaris are the ideal way to experience the native wildlife in its natural splendor.

DAY 3: SAMBURU TO NAIVASHA (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the Camp. This morning depart by road from Samburu to Lk. Naivasha passing via the Nyahururu Water Falls (Thompson Falls – commonly known as the T-falls!) stopping briefly (optional hike at an additional cost of around $3). -Naivasha is a Masai name given to the area where the resort is located, denoting the characteristics of the lake including size and its tendency to roughness when windy. The history of the area has always been important as it formed the main route of the slave trade from Uganda and the highlands of Kenya, including in 1884, the Scottish explorer Joseph Thompson’s epic journey through Masai land – where he writes in his journals of his time in Naivasha.

Optional activities like boat ride are offered here at an extra cost. When riding the boat you will have the chance to see the hippo’s very clearly and close to you the giraffes at the island and many types of bird species

 DAY 4: NAIVASHA –MASAI MARA (B, L, D)

On this day, drive to the Hell’s Gate national park famous for its natural geysers, star rock towers and geothermal steam that make it one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa. This park was named for its pair of massive red tinged cliffs framing a geothermic active interior of steam vents and bubbling springs. This is the only park where you can walk or cycle through as you view animals. Later continue through the Great Rift Valley floor via Narok town to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Lunch will be served on your way at Narok Town. Early afternoon spent at leisure, late in the afternoon game drive at the reserve – home to the “Big Five”elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hippo, impala, gazelle and numerous other wildlife including many hundreds of species of birds

The Masai Mara is the Jewel in the Crown of East Africa, forever to be associated with vast numbers of game – the greatest wildlife experience of all. here round the Masai Mara Reserve is host to an enormous concentration of animals, boosted by the famous wildebeest and zebra migration during July/August/October.

All the Big Cats, Elephant, Black Rhino and thousands of plains game spread out before you – it’s better than the Discovery Channel because you are part of the spectacle. The birds are fantastic – from the giant Martial Eagle, to the ground Hornbill and a myriad of other diverse species. The Mara is undoubtedly Hollywood Africa, grass plains interspersed with Migunga and Croton thickets, rolling hills and small kopjes, islands in the sea of grass abound. Small rivers feed massive fig trees on their banks. This is the northernmost extension of the Serengeti ecosystem and is a microhabitat in its own right.

Here during the months of July to December you witness the spectacle of the migration of a million and a half Wildebeest and Zebra, with all their attendant carnivores, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Hyena and possibly Wild Dog. The rest of the year is no less exciting as the Lion and Leopard remain resident and are commonly seen hunting plains game that include Thompson and Grants Gazelle, Coke’s Hartebeest, Topi, Eland, Waterbuck, great herds Wildebeest and groups of the chestnut coated Impala.

DAY 5: MASAI MARA FULL (B, L, D)

On this morning, you will leave the Camp/lodge with your packed lunch after a hot breakfast. Spend the full day game viewing and exploring the park in search of the Big 5 with a picnic lunch with the hippos and crocodiles at the Hippo Pool i.e. the Mara River famous for the great migration.

DAY 6: MASAI MARA – NAKURU (B, L, D)

Have Pre- breakfast game-viewing drive.Return to the Camp/lodge for full- breakfast and then depart to Lake Nakuru National Park, lunch on your way to Lake Nakuru Arriving Late in the evening.

Lake Nakuru National Park-is world famous and was created a National Park, to protect its stunning flocks of lesser and greater flamingos, which literally turn its shores pink. Its birdlife is world renowned: a beacon for leading Ornithologists, scientists and wildlife film-makers. The park spans an attractive range of wooded and bush grassland around the lake offering wide ecological diversity, from lake water, woodland to the rocky escarpments and ridges. Notable game within the lake includes hippo and clawless otters. On the shores roam waterbuck, Bohor’s Reedbuck and zebra. The woodlands and forest are now home to both black and white rhino. Game viewing is relatively easy: buffalo, leopard, tree climbing-lions, Rothschild’s giraffe, Black and White Columbus monkey are plentiful in the forest. The bush lands offer eland, steenbok, impala, Chandler’s reedbuck and dik dik, whilst rock hyrax and klipspringer occupy the cliffs and escarpment.

DAY 7: NAKURU –AMBOSELI (B, L, D)

After breakfast, proceed for a game drive in the Rhino sanctuary which is home to a colony of about 25 white and black Rhinos. Predators are also resident in the Park. Later, we leave for Amboseli arriving late in the evening.

The waters from melted snow drain down Mt. Kilimanjaro under lava flows and surface in Amboseli, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Here buffaloes, lions, gazelles, cheetahs, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, Masai Giraffes, zebra, baboon, hippos and waterbuck can be seen against the backdrop of the magnificent snow-capped mountain.

DAY 8: AMBOSELI FULL DAY

After a leisurely breakfast, Full day in this photogenic park. Morning and afternoon game drives. Amboseli National Park is located in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The ecosystem mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

 DAY 9: AMBOSELI – TSAVO WEST (B,L,D)

On this day leave Amboseli for Tsavo West Game en route toTsavo west check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit the rhino sanctuary and return to the Lodge where there is usually a leopard trap and if you are lucky you will see it.

DAY 10: TSAVO WEST – TSAVO EAST(B,L,D)

Early morning breakfast game drive with a visit to Mzima Springs later on depart Tsavo West for Tsavo East which is renowned for its large numbers of elephants and the famous man eating lions Game en route to the camp, Tsavo East. Check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, another game drives at the park later dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 11: TSAVO EAST – NAIROBI. (B, L)

Early morning game drive return to your lodge for breakfast, after breakfast check out of the park  with game drive   enroute back to Nairobi
